Membership

DSTAR membership is open to all North American electric utilities, and is on a research program basis. Each research program has several independent research projects included. Eligible utilities can also retroactively join previous DSTAR programs in order to obtain the deliverables products (reports and software) produced by the projects in these programs. Click here to browse the list of projects by program or here to see projects organized by R&D focus area.

In some cases, eligible utilities may procure individual DSTAR products from past or current programs with special permission from the DSTAR representatives. Non-eligible companies (overseas utilities, manufacturers, etc.) may obtain individual products for a price negotiated on as case-by-case basis.

All member utility company members share equally in the costs of the DSTAR research. Currently, the apportionment to each $40,000 - $90,000 per program, depending on the utility size. Because research programs typically extend over a 1½ to 2-year period, the annual cost is about $20,000 - $45,000. The research investment made by each utility is highly leveraged by the cooperative funding with other utilities.

If your company is interested in joining DSTAR or receiving specific project results, contact the Program Manager or one of the DSTAR officers.

Current DSTAR Members include:
